Titanium Tube Reboiler Fabricator
Reboiler tube failures in corrosive distillation service lead to unplanned shutdowns, contaminated product, and costly emergency repairs. The right material selection and fabrication quality prevent those failures before they start. As an experienced titanium tube reboiler fabricator, TiFab designs and builds shell and tube reboilers in titanium, zirconium, and nickel alloys for chemical plants, refineries, and process facilities worldwide. Every unit is custom-engineered, fabricated, and tested under one roof at our facilities in the U.S. and Canada.
TiFab has fabricated titanium and zirconium tube reboilers for the production of acetic acid, chlorine, and methacrylic acid (MAA), among other processes where the reboiler must remove water or catalysts from the process stream or condense steam in highly corrosive conditions.
Reboiler Configurations
TiFab manufactures the reboiler configurations most commonly specified in chemical and petrochemical distillation service, including kettle reboilers, recirculating and once-through thermosyphon reboilers, and horizontal stab-in reboilers. Size capabilities range from 8" to 96" in diameter, with lengths up to 50 ft. Beyond new builds, we also retube existing bundles and repair damaged tube sheets, giving you a single source for both new equipment and maintenance of your installed base.
Materials and Titanium Grades
As a titanium tube reboiler fabricator, TiFab works with commercially pure and alloyed titanium grades selected for the specific corrosion environment and operating temperature of each application. Common grade selections for reboiler service include Grade 2 for general corrosion resistance in chloride-bearing media, Grade 7 (Ti-0.15Pd) for the most severe acidic environments, Grade 12 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni) for elevated-temperature strength and seawater service, and Grade 16 (Ti-0.05Pd) as a cost-effective lean palladium alternative to Grade 7.
For processes involving sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and other media where titanium reaches its corrosion limits, TiFab fabricates zirconium tube reboilers using zirconium plate and sheet in Zr 702 and Zr 705. Additional materials include Hastelloy, Inconel, and duplex stainless steel. Our metallurgical experience with these alloys allows us to present multiple cost and delivery solutions that fabricators working with more common materials may overlook.
In-House Design, Machining, and Fabrication
TiFab performs all thermal and mechanical design in-house using HTRI, B-Jac, PV-Elite, and CodeCalc. Because we design and fabricate with anticorrosion materials every day, our strength lies in presenting customers with effective solutions that are not readily apparent with more common materials. Our precision CNC machining capabilities handle finish machining of tubesheets, body flanges, and nozzle connections on site, so components meet tight tolerances without relying on outside vendors. We hold ASME U, U2, S, and R stamps and maintain quality certifications aligned with ISO 9001 and NORSOK standards.
Industry Applications
TiFab reboilers operate in some of the most aggressive thermal and chemical environments across heavy industry. In oil and gas refining, our titanium tube reboilers serve overhead distillation systems and hydrocarbon stripping columns where chloride-laden crudes attack carbon steel and standard stainless.
Petrochemical plants rely on our units for PTA production, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) processes, and organic acid recovery. In chemical manufacturing, TiFab reboilers handle chlor-alkali and specialty acid production, where process fluids are highly oxidizing or reducing. Power generation facilities use our titanium reboilers in geothermal brine systems and steam condensate applications where corrosion and scaling are constant concerns.
