Fleet programs need a fabricator that can meet NAVSEA specifications on the first pass, not the third. TiFab supplies NAVSEA-certified military and defense fabricated products to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army, with more than 30 years building titanium and nickel alloy assemblies for submarine and carrier fleet work, chemical weapon depot projects, and shipboard system upgrades. Every piece moves through a quality assurance process built around defense specifications, so procurement teams, prime contractors, and contracting officers working military and defense programs get parts that pass inspection the first time, without a second round of rework eating into the schedule.

NAVSEA-Certified Fabrication for Military and Defense Programs

TiFab holds approved Fabrication Plans per MIL-STD-278 and welds to U.S. Navy (NAVSEA) standards. WE have NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AR-GIB 010-278 approvals to weldall grades of titanium, inconel, and monel, with some procedures valid up to six inches thick. These specialty alloy certifications are procedures most fabricators serving military and defense contractors do not possess. For a program manager vetting suppliers, those pre-existing approvals enable us to start working on your projects immediately instead of waiting years to get the procedures in place.

Single-Source Fabrication From Prototype to Delivery

Rapid prototyping runs through every stage of fabrication under one roof, and a network of local sub-vendors adds testing, finishing, and expedited shipping without handing the job to a second facility. That single-source setup shortens the path from drawing to delivered part, which matters most on programs where a missed milestone holds up a larger fleet schedule and every subcontractor downstream is waiting on the same delivery date.

In-house and sub-vendor capabilities include:

● Titanium and nickel alloy welding to MIL-STD-278 and NAVSEA S9074-AR-GIB 010-278

● Rapid prototyping across all stages of fabrication under one roof

● Stock various grades of Titanium plate, pipe, bar, billet

● Stress relieving and heat treatment through local sub-vendor partners

● Finishing services matched to shipboard specification requirements

● Non-destructive and material testing coordinated through the same sub-vendor network (with NAVSEA NDE procedures already in place)

● Expedited shipping for programs on a fixed delivery date

Frequently Asked Questions

What does NAVSEA certification mean for a titanium fabricator?

NAVSEA certification means a fabricator's welding procedures and Fabrication Plans have been reviewed and approved against Navy shipboard standards, in TiFab's case MIL-STD-278 and NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AR-GIB 010-278. A contractor sourcing from a NAVSEA-certified supplier does not need to requalify that supplier's welding program before placing an order.

What thickness of titanium can TiFab weld for Navy applications?

TiFab's NAVSEA approval covers welding on all grades of titanium up to six inches thick, per NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AR-GIB 010-278.

Does TiFab work directly with the Navy, or only through prime contractors?

Both. TiFab has supplied the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army directly for more than 30 years and also fabricates parts on behalf of prime contractors and subcontractors working defense programs.

Can TiFab handle testing and finishing in addition to fabrication and welding?

Yes. A network of local sub-vendors provides non-destructive testing, stress relieving, and finishing services, so a program does not need to coordinate a separate vendor for each step.

What types of defense projects has TiFab supported?

Submarine, carrier, and destroyer fleet projects, chemical weapon depot work, and shipboard system upgrades are among the defense projects TiFab has fabricated titanium and nickel alloy assemblies for.
